- The neo-noir genre currently occupies the position of best thing ever.
- The makeup artist must have rather liked the blood-all-over-face look; it features prominently.
- There’s something so (pretentiously, but adorably) cool about a protagonist whose name is never revealed.
- Quiet satisfaction at knowing (almost) all the songs on the soundtrack. Which, coincidentally, is also the best thing ever.
- The titles guy must have been out of their mind. I mean, who uses this font?

Foo Fighters’ new EP
(And there was I, planning all sorts of comeback articles. This one is a sort of anticlimax.)
American rock band Foo Fighters have released an Extended Play called “Saint Cecilia”. And the best part? It’s free. Five songs, including the rising-in-popularity “Saint Cecilia”, for legitimate free download at http://www.saintceciliaep.com/ . (Of course, it’s around 1 GB download, so ‘free’ is relative.) Hey, even bands take sabbaticals.
And that’s what this (unofficially) is.
College started a few weeks back, and my mind is still in pieces (because I’ve got a whole new schedule and because the campus is amazing. Not in a bad way). So I will therefore take some more time to get back to proper blogging about music.
Currently I’m thinking of restarting around mid-September, after the first quizzes are over. This is a heads-up post so that, after that unexplained gap, you won’t be left speculating about my absence (any more), if you even cared in the first place. (And I hope you did :P)
So here’s to a month from now and more pop-ranting!
Cheers
Deorro x Chris Brown: ‘Five More Hours’
Let me tell you a story.
Once upon a time in 2015, two songwriters sat down to write a song for Chris Brown. Only problem was, they couldn’t decide what the song was supposed to be about. Continue reading
Blogger Recognition Award (who, me?!)
So. Shameeka Alexis has nominated lil’ ol’ me for this mouthful of an award. And I’m touched.
It’s intended to encourage bloggers, a little ‘Hey! I like you, and you’re doing good.’ Continue reading
Vid Wed: Ed Sheeran covering ‘Trap Queen’
Blogger award?!!?
Well. I’ve been nominated for an award by dearest Shameeka, and I’m over the moon. I don’t have proper access to a computer, however (these are a precious few stolen moments), so this is me hyperventilating. Proper post coming soon.
Cheers!
Hard To Say I’m Sorry
Check out Persia Karema’s blog here!
Two versions. I love both.
Chicago:
Az Yet:
“Hard To Say I’m Sorry”
Everybody need a little time away
I heard her say, from each other
Even lovers need a holiday
Far away from each other
Hold me now
It’s hard for me to say, I’m sorry (oh)
I just want you to stay (stay with me)
After all that you’ve been through
I will make it up to you, I promise you baby
And after all that’s been said and done
You’re just a part of me I can’t let go
Couldn’t stand to be kept away
Not for a day, from your body
(baby, I can’t live without you, not even day)
Wouldn’t wanna be swept away (away)
Far away from the one that I love
Hold me now
It’s hard for me to say, I’m sorry
I just want you to know (you to know)
Hold me…

Vid Wed: Mark Knopfler + Chet Atkins
Wheee! So I’ve started this new segment. I shall bombard you, my much-enduring followers, with a video every Wednesday. Mostly off YouTube, and mostly to do with music.
And, of course, I don’t believe in segmenting. So I might just send some off on Thursday or Friday. Continue reading
Dystonal Rant #9 – Music, Business and Focus
Dystonal is the stage name of Dan Stratford, a British music producer (a.k.a. DJ), who’s just gone full-time into music.
Here’s a post I found on his website about the mistakes frequently made by people going into music. Check him out, by the way. His rants are both entertaining and informative.
